Where no tyranny is tolerable

0 posted 2007-06-14 07:18 PM

Think what it might be like to be an animal?
We could eat all the food we wanted free.
because human beings would take care of that for us.
and we wouldn't have to wear any clothes,
just go around as Nature made us;
so we would have no wash to do, other than the nice cute suits we arrived in.
And we could just go wherever we wanted
and humans would pick up after us.
And we wouldn't have to pay rent,
because humans would keep us in their houses free.
Why, even cockroaches could live high in human houses free
without the humans even being aware of it.
We wouldn't have to worry about medical care
because humans would take us to a vet for free.
We could try to get a job,
but why would any employer in their right mind
want to hire an animal?
We might be tempted to get married,
but why would anyone in their right mind
want to be married to an animal?
Why do we have a discipline called animal husbandry?
Is it about unsatisfied housewives
learning how to muzzle their animals
with leashes and halters
and prods and harnesses and saddles
and maybe whips and chains?
That's why I will never marry an animal.
Some humans put us in zoos
so they can gauche at us
and have their young throw us peanuts to eat--
as if we grew up eating peanuts in the wild.
Some humans maltreat us.
The practices in the human processing industry are terrible.
They put chickens in little cages under spotlights
Making them lay continuously 24-7,
(without even the comfort of a single rooster to lay with)
and then make the chickens eat scrambled eggs.
They shoot cows with nasty hormones to make them fatten,
and then make them eat hamburger, cheese burger,
meatloaf, meatballs, butter, steak, and milk.
The way humans transport us through the slaughter houses and grocery stores!
They treat us like ...  like ...  like animals!
To think of all the nasty stuff
that humans are throwing Gaia.
Gaia is not pleased with humans,
and her patience is not endless.
Midnitesun knows.  Eh Midnitesun?
it's just like George said:
Proles and animals are free.

Two eyes bad.  No eyes badder
This message was composed by an animal,
the clever monkey that spent a million years typing Shakespear.

"just go around as Nature made us;

Laughing at this and wishing I did not have a stack of laundry waiting for me.
Sigh, but in the end, I still prefer (most days) to be homo sapien.

interesting 'write'!

"MidniteSun" mentioned: homo 'sapien'...
Sadly, it seems to me that we are rather
'devolving' into homo 'nonsegacian'
(non-reasoning/unwise 'man') these days
(in America at least)...particularly
at the 'marketplace of ideas and discourse'
for (political) decision making; etc.

What if Shakespeare WAS the 'clever monkey'
typing Shakespeare?!...

would that I could 'talk to the (other) animals'!!
