           America Lost!
    (on 'Zombie' Capitalism)

Crack the sands from the hourglass.
Spin the sundials only by moonlight.
Run the clocks backwards and free…
for we ‘know’ but little
of the true nature of ‘Time’…
in this land of so many fools
and too few ‘dreamers’,
(with Jupiter and Atlantis
   in their eyes)
as we wander blind
in endless stumble,
(like phantasmic apparitions
beneath a dying sun)
through the ruthless winds
   of commerce,
to the siren call of profit
above and beyond all else!…

dollar bills dollar bills. be all you can be.
Ramble on the same old song. Politics never make us free.. Or not so much anymore.

This was an enjoyable read, and I enjoyed the symbolism within it.
Cheers.

Secondhanddreampoet,

Awwww gezzzz, I don't know.  I've spent my life looking for a buck, and don't think I'll stop now.

I'm one of those "Zombie Capitalists", and always will be.  One gets into the bad habit of eating.

Enjoyed, Poet  ...

especially

"Crack the sands from the hourglass.
Spin the sundials only by moonlight.
Run the clocks backwards and free…
for we ‘know’ but little
of the true nature of ‘Time’…"

           and

"(with Jupiter and Atlantis
   in their eyes)"

Political? You bet.
Poetic? Exceptionally.

A 'timeless' perspective, dear poet.

Why is it I never seem to have enough of it???
