Where the child can be free

I felt the need to justify this poem.  I am aware that the uncomfortable and flexible meter in this poem makes reading it somewhat unnatural.  This is because I originally wrote it as lyrics.  I promise it flowed much better in song.

At the End of Our Day

This person that you think I am
I have to live with all the expectations
HOw much can you really want from one man
Without finding a few little complications

The night drifts off to sleep
The guests all find their one ways home
Shadows start to creep
As each guest wanders all alone
Not sure where home is anymore

How strong do you believe me to be
What hero have you mistaken me for
What happens when you discover the person you see
Was never really me
At all
Not at all...
