Magic Tricks (Revised)

Magic Tricks
(Revised)

I accidentally cut myself yesterday
The knife slid into my thumb
As I tried to remove the plastic ties
That held a magic wand to paper backing

It was a sparkly stick covered in pink roses
With streamers of ribbon and glittery silver

Red blood flowed into the white porcelain
Of my kitchen sink as I bent over it
The depth of color faded to pale pink
(Like the color of the magical roses)
As it slipped down the drain

All I had to cover the small gash
(Which throbbed so intensely)
Was a Snoopy Band-Aid in deep blue

Colors seemed garish as I leaned against the counter
Viewing the fallen wand, I thought

Magic if for children and tricks are for kids

this reminds me of when I was a kid. My brother cut himself while he was helping me with a new toy set. I felt bad for forever for it.....still do LOL

My brother told me not to touch the sander when it was going .. I, um, didn't listen.  I think it goes back to that rule thing.
