Forever In Your Heart

How often are we reminded,
aware of the gifts of life?
a new morning, full of life
once more,

Today I see the beauty,
like the sun shinning,
for the very first time,

I walk softly to their rooms,
each asleep, breathing, dreaming,
alive, happy, a part of me,

My fingers glide through their hair,
soft hair that is flowing, clean,
alive with life, hopes and dreams.

As I walk beside each bed,
I see them laying, silent,
so fragile, so innocent,
lives yet to be lived,

My heart smiles with contentment,
peacfullness, flows through my veins,
thoughts of gratitude toward God,

These two lives, he placed,
in my hands to mold, shape,
form, two young men,

Sometimes I wonder,
as I stare at them,
in their quite slumber,

If I have been the best mother,
Have I shared all my wisdom?
Love has been wrapped around them,
so tightly,

I have been there for them,
through anything, they count on me,
they know I am here for them,
and how much I love them,

I tell them everyday,
twice a day, sometimes,
each, is unique, a special
part of me.

Today, another day,
I get to love my sons,
to hold them, smell them,
share life with them,

Today I get to make new memories,
share a hug and a kiss,
offer advice and encouragement,
and help with decisons,

Yesterday will be here,
before I know it,
and some mothers never get
to have a yesterday,

One email, one story,
set my heart in motion,
for this poem today,

Precious gifts of life,
that is what they are,
I treasure every moment,
that I get with them.

(Hug your children today, tell them you love them, call them , they are never too old to let them know how much you care, life is too short, live the moment, today, for tomorrow may never come, be the best you can be today!, let go of past hurts, etc. be free from all of it, and just love....)
