Well, it’s been a long time. It's been about 2 years now
since I’ve written any poems.

Hopefully, today is a turning point.

I’ve missed writing, and ...
I’ve missed you guys a LOT.

***

Closure

Broken dreams that needed mending,
Promises that lost their way,
Questions with no answers pending,
Silent words that had no say.

All are part of life’s delivery,
Recollections buried deep,
Time to move beyond the memory ...
Things to rid, and things to keep.

Captured are the moments tender,
Long before resentment grew,
Times of care and dreams of splendor,
Years before they ran askew.

Drawn to surface came the anguish,
Followed by the bitter truth,
Faced head-on and forced to banish,
That which carved a stolen youth.

Resurrection drawn through feelings,
Episodes and wronged events,
Analyzed in safe surroundings ...
No restraints and no pretence.

Lessons learned without derision,
Closure formed through past vignettes,
Satisfied with truth’s decision ...
No remorse ... and no regrets.

That's ma girl, well done!  I must say, what a birthday gift for me today too, and I am claiming it!     Closure is a gift you give to yourself but then you knew that right?

Well, m'dear Kit-ten, I do believe that your ink is like a fine Bordeaux which gets even better with the passing of time!

Perfect in form, rhyme, message and time!

You and your poetry have been greatly missed!

Giving you a big, warm, welcome-back hug ~ and a pat on the back,

What a ‘real’, emotive, powerful and
refreshingly wonderful ‘write’!

In my ever-most-humble opinion,
the following is especially fine:

“Broken dreams that needed mending,
Promises that lost their way,
Questions with no answers pending,
Silent words that had no say.”

this poem deserves a long-sustained
‘standing ovation’!!

(angel friendship hugs) Oh Kit, though I've expressed my deep thoughts about your most touching and proverbial poem here, it had just occurred to me I hadn't yet commented to that, so I just wanted to apologize for the delay and again tell you exactly how much we value your most empathetic, compassionate and gentle poetic presence here, as all the time I've been here I've been blessed by your friendship and have grown and matured so much from the kind words of you and others, and that ultimately that's one of the greatest beauties of poetry; through each other's hearts and minds we find solace and wisdom through each other's words, and that in itself provides closure in stages for all of us I think! (hugs) God Bless You, dearest friend, and I know with all my heart, despite the adversity you've endured as of late, you are destined to indeed shine brighter than ever, as your heart has the strength, love and courage to do so, yay, thank you for sharing! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kit, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Kit,
Life's toughest times are often the hardest to bring closure to. Seems this is closure gift wrapped with a bow. How thorough and well expressed, all indications of a closure of significant value. And thank you for sharing. Peace.
