Unholy Night of Terror
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

A scratching at my window pane,
Disturbed me in my slumber.
Shadows scrolled across bed sheets,
~ Shrill scream I could not cumber.

My unholy cry of terror,
Pierced the stillness of the night.
Goosebumps crawled across my skin,
As I trembled there in fright.

Evil eyes of liquid amber,
Glared malevolently at me.
Guttural sounds rocked my senses,
As long fangs gnashed hungrily.

In a state of catalepsies,
I lie frozen in limbo trance.
My heart was pounding in my ears,
As Dark visage did advance.

Sweat beaded upon my forehead,
Tho’ my room was icy cold.
Stark eyes were wide with terror,
As the horror did unfold.

Lord Michael of the Archangels,
Please protect me with Blue Light.
Wield thy sword of righteousness,
And banish the Dark of Night.

God’s Angel heard my silent prayer,
And my room began to glow,
With the radiance of Heaven,
~ Not red fires of Hell below.

A blessed peace befell me,
As I cited the 23rd Psalm.
God’s brave, avenging angel,
Had restored my world of calm.

In Divine time, all will be revealed.
~ Linda L. Dowd

Oh Linda, although you wrote this beautifully, this has me worried about you. Are you okay? Please email me and let me know you are okay.

Smartest Chick ~

Oh, Sweet Sue. This was simply poetry. Mind you, I have had some humdinger nightmares and to my dismay, I can still remember several of them in great detail!

However, I am very pleased that I can also recall my heavenly dreams!

Thank you for being such a kind and caring friend! Fear not! All is well!

Loving hug,
Linda

Boy, you captured the night terrors well here, Linda! I've experienced a few of these myself. Well done ... much enjoyed the emotions brought forth here.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Well, I didn't eat any "frijoles" before going to bed. I just had my usual batter-fried froggy legs with jalapeno peppers. So I'm afraid that it wasn't a nightmare as you suggest! ~ The Dark One must have been the real deal afterall!!!!

You best sleep with one eye open!

(angel comfort hugs) Oh Linda, I used to have these terrible nightmares all the time myself when I was little, so this poem certainly got to me emotionally as I too developed my understanding of faith and how it made all those wicked spirits dissipate! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, you have one of the most compassionate and holy hearts I know, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Noel Noah ~

Thank God-ness that those horrifying nightmares of yours, are things of the past!

I usually dream sweetly, however I do have the occasional night terror and the feelings that they evoke are difficult to shake off the following day ~ or even for the following week!

May all your dreams be as sweet as you, yourself, are!

Sweet dreams!

I thank you for this one, as some of my writings, seemed to be channeled from micheal, from what others replied, a few times when chatting or texting another, the person will stop and ask me :what my name is" MY response is always, Micheal. thats when I realize I was writing other than what I thought I was. The blue light luminates in my house when others who should not be near, are. Once I was talking with a friend, suddenly he sat up and the blue light came out his eyes and mouth. He had been angry at the world for his MS, and denying gods existance, It was a strange experiance.

My spirit will rise

Hi, there, stranger! Good to see you! Hope all is well in your personal corner of the world.

I'm pleased that you liked that phrase. I had changed it umpteen times and finally came up with this one.
