Every Sunday morning,
Sally and Felix’s foster family
would trot themselves off
self righteously to Church.

Needless to say,
they always left
Sally and Felix at
home.

They saw no use in taking them.

After all,
Sally and Felix had work to do
preparing their Sunday dinner.

People might talk
if they saw how miserable
the kids were.

They didn’t want that,
and besides,
Sally and Felix
had no Sunday cloths
anyway.

Somehow,
Sally and Felix,
through their short
miserable life’s experiences,
had picked up the meaning
of Luke 10:27 all by themselves.

“He said in reply,
"You shall love the
Lord, your God,
with all your heart,
with all your being,
with all your strength,
and with all your mind,
and your neighbor
as yourself."”*

Being naturally good-natured,
Sally and Felix
took it all in stride.

They didn’t hate anyone—
yet.

Stinky laundry, exposed once again.
Hats off to you for your tenacity and willingness to expose the dark negative imagery in these snapshots of Americana.

Midnitesun,

Thanks for saying that.  Sally and Felix can handle it, they're good people.

Once they got out of there, they attended Church regular like.
