Our Secret Sport

A stolen hour,
and how we play
with broken rules -
two winners, yea!
But in return,
time’s cheating way
prevents rematch -
a game delay.
Yet we both keep
the score today,
until next time,
hidden away.

"You inspire; I desire – and refrain; you sustain."

Topheth,

Nice work on this, and a good rule for poker.

Never keep your winnings up on the table.

Reminds me of the song

She was going to pieces when he walked in the door
She had to see him she can't wait no more
Tonight she'll be with him no matter the cost
As the band plays The Last Cheater's Waltz

And oh don't they play lonely
oh don't they play sad
oh three quarter only
See how he holds her
As the band plays The Last Cheater's Waltz

whoops forgot the sad bit

He tells her he loves her as the music plays on
He tells he loves her but someone's at home
The ball game's all over and she knows she's lost
As the band plays The Last Cheater's Waltz
