MY OWN THINKING ROOM

Out over the water
A long wooden pier,
My space at the end
I feel safe out here.

The Pelicans and Seagulls
Above me they loom,
I watch them with wonder
From My own Thinking Room.

I know we all have them
A place of our own,
Where no one can find us
Our own safety zone.

As the sun starts to set
And the gulls they still loom,
I still watch them with wonder
From My own Thinking Room.

Joty~
I like this ... reminded me of what I refer to as My Meadow of Poetic Thought~

I love the water too ... and you've transported me there with your descriptive penning~

Applause to you my friend.  This perfectly describes my own space.  Great poem, great depth.

I hate to tell you but I think we both share that same room.   Nicely written.

Joty,

This is great!  Yes, I think we all have them (or at least, need to have a thinking room all of our own).   My thinking room is more like a thinking tub!  Would one call that a think tank?   A long soak does one good now and then.

Enjoyed your wonderful poem and am clcking it to my library.  Nice write!

I have that view from Anna Maria Island, looking out over the Gulf.  I go there and make it a place of my own also.
