Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2007-05-31 11:14 AM

Here we are again,
same old song and dance,
love without romance,
how many times will
I allow myself to be
here?

Critical comments,
hurtful words,
trying to break me,
shake me, tear me
apart,

No, not this time,
I am not perfect enough,
to fit your desire,
after you told me,

There are so many,
so many to choose from,
and you have to be with me.

Out of all the women you could
have chosen, you chose me,
and now you are regreting
your mistake,

Years have passed,
time changes everything,
skin, minds, hearts,
but my soul remains,
intact.

I remain the same,
same as I have always been,
just more of me,
not as perfect as I used to be,

Though my body has changed,
I have gained knowledge,
and wisdom, matureity

Go ahead, put me down,
say those words to inflict,
harm, pain, punishment,

My ears may hear,
but my heart has a shield,
your daggers will not
hurt me anymore!
