another oldie just because

I Am Safe In Here

You raised your hand and your voice
and I sunk down beneath you, small
you left me the pain of no choice
and so I built a stronger wall.

It's gotten too bad to continue on
too heavy, the weight of anger and tears
though the love is not completely gone
it has changed and faded over years.

I may wake up tomorrow missing you
the morning is always lonely for me
after a night of dreams of kissing you
but then I will move on to reality.

Then the pain will subside and disappear
and I will no longer remember when
I know for certain I am safe in here
I won't let you tear down the wall again.

Nuff-said.  Reality rules.

But the 'you' you miss was never really there.  I like this one, it ends on a positive note.

Dear Dixie, these days I would so much rather hear your heartache than the pain of this oldie, love must be so strong to endure, but the mind and body can only bear so much and then memories are all that we have left, sometimes the memories are rose coloured and not as true as thought, gaining relisation again brings us back and to earth again to search and find what now is missing, the warm touch and the feeling of happiness.
Wishing you well Dixie, take care.

Sincerely
Rick
