I don't know why I stay.
Why I even came back, I don't know.
I have nothing to keep me here
and all the reasons in the world to go.

The nights seem darker, the days more dim,
I continue to keep my mind on him,
the one reaching out, wanting to see
a better life we can make for me.

It's a big chance and I am afraid,
what if I fail and wish I had stayed?

But it's come time for a decision,
one I must make alone,
to start over brand new,
new job and new home...
and maybe a new man,
lover or friend,
even if I fail
he'd be there till the end.

A chance to get my life on track
with any luck, I'll never come back.

Dixie

You got me hooked on your poetry, girl.  I love your work - I love your heart - and I love the emotion that is inside you.  It is who you are and you share it so well.

Perhaps it's better to fail than never to take a chance but then again nothing really is a failure - it's just something to learn from.  Go out and learn, dear Dixie, because you may learn that the chance you took was the best thing you've ever done.

It seems you have nothing to lose here.

Nice write,

A day at a time... take the risk learn to fly again!  A fresh begining is what we sometimes need to find our happiness...  Your writings are amazingly moving... you have a strong... giving heart.. failure is not part of your future... Happiness is..

Good luck!
