Lumpy Oatmeal makes me Crazy!

A True Love

I cradled a book
And opened its cover
The words enfolded me
Like the arms of a lover

The story blanketed me
And I felt infatuation
With the turn of every page
Turn to adoration

Thank you, Gentle Spirit -- perhaps you are simply a kindred spirit when it comes to books?

Lady

You have been an inspiration to me since I came to PiP.  Thank you for all the words in response to my writing.  You never fail to make me smile.

I have to agree with what I read today about you - you are far from "second hand" in your poetry.  Thank you for taking the time to read and offer your thoughts.

Alison, I used to read books when I was a child...I had boxes and boxes of them...I could never get enough books

I do miss that love in my life but it seems my eyes have gotten a bit old and cranky

and after college, I just lost patience.

I just might find a good book now and try it again, thanks to your poem here

I am certainly a kindred spirit when it comes to books. One of the poems I never got around to finishing began:

When daylight falls and nighttime calls
The weary day to end
I settle in my study and
Surround myself with friends.

Books are my greatest friends and authors my heroes. I see you may feel the same way..

You know, I think you should finish that poem.  I am really enjoying reading your creations -- and yes, I am in love with books.

Thank you for reading and responding ~ means a lot to me.
