Listening to every heart

0 posted 2007-05-27 04:40 PM

Have I Lost You?

Visits that were all the while surreal
have quieted, now less for the feel
of tendered loving words’ whispered seal
and blood-red this wax, less its yield

just so, solemn ‘tis this soul of mine
lacking luster of fall’s goodly wine
less tinkling laughter, glittering times
have I lost you, oh love of mine?

My hand is no longer fine nor fair
for it is slighted of your touch, I swear
and I would suffer under some crimson glare
yet once again, for your kiss to wear

and reaching, oh listening for such time, so vain
but yes, to hear you come to whisper me again
to breathe your breath, let loose these reins
yes, to see you striding down this lane.

Spring forfeited light the sound of you
would summer see these green eyes anew
or taste sweet berries borne wet with dew
oh, tell me, love, have I lost you?

Like my muse, whose visits are briefly sweet
I pray that both of you should meet
one for soul’s mind, the other for heart’s beat
to kiss a cheek, to embrace in greet, and

oh, this moment in mind, still and kind
and if I could, fragrant winds would so align
that fairies would dance, gypsies give sign
and loving arms would gently entwine…

Have I lost you, oh love of mine?

The fairies whispered to me that I should visit here today..
And oh am I ever pleased that I listened.
Such a tender ache of a write dear Karilea.

Sadly, sweetly, lovely

I agree with Lady -- it does remind me of the Barbara Allen style of poetry.

Hugs to you

Sissie...this feels of soul-fulness and an ache from distance that carries with it so much time...words from centuries ago that feed the minute in you now.

Beautiful words.
This is by far your best.

And so I return, after two months gone from PiP, to find a poem that brings tears to my eyes, it is so beautiful and kind. Thank you for both, and may your wishes come true.

The only thing we can lose that is damaging is patience. True love can never be lost....it is one of the few constants in life.

Pardon my philosophical rambling...your poem is, as always, exquisite.
