Age of Enlightenment
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Behold the dawning of this Enlightened Age,
for in every Man dwells an ancient sage.
Wisdom is rising along with past lore,
as memories of Origin come to the fore.

The Awakening brings Light to planet Earth.
~ This bountiful home of Man’s physical birth.
Yet our souls were borne from stars far away,
Where all is Golden and in Godly array.

Hands that heal touch others in need,
And aid the hungry with food they feed.
Enlightened poets pen words of peace,
By joining hands all wars shall cease.

The world is evolving to graceful times,
of spiritual growth and expanding minds.
Creative forces are alive and well,
as mankind rides this rapturous swell.

Life will soon flow with harmony and ease.
Cures will be found for each scourge and disease.
There will be no deserts. ~ No flood waters to dam,
and the mightiest lion will lie down with the lamb.

“We are borne of star dust,
and to the stars we shall one day return.”

if only the wars would cease then my brother would not be flying out tomorrow for Iraq...your words are hopeful but so distant from me right now and I know I shouldn't feel that way because it won't make matters better

Wow! When I started reading this I was thinking that it would be kind of New Agey cliche. But the beauty of it is that it wasn't. I think that's a real feat considering the subject matter. Beautiful work!

(does happy celestial cha-cha) Oh Linda, I have been inspired from many samplings of works from both the Age of Enlightenment and the Romantic Period, as both gleam with ideals and philosophies that mirror my understanding in appreciating the imaginative worth of each individual, as well as keeping in the forefront the philanthropic philosophy of doing our part in the global community to provide peace and compassion among one another, God Bless you for this wondrous post, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light alwas shine upon you!
