Undefined Passion Many nights I shared passion they believed to be forever, In the way “Love” comforts then betrays the heart; Imagine experiencing such an existential dilemma While sands of time embed in cracks of hands Forming canals of chartreuse lies and auburn dreams, Washing away innocence and desire From the hearts and minds of sinners and lovers--- Double talk from a surreal being I mirror myself to be, Wandering the mystic realms of fairytales Where the hero gets the pretty girl And the last lines read “Happily Ever After”… But only when commitment is finally understood And the bond between lust and happiness is broken, Because in reality, one does and does not need the other, To hear a pause between breaths To feel a sigh between heartbeats To reminisce before a kiss To love unconditionally before passion… Marcel |
