(Here's one more re-post as I finish editing and refining my new batch of summer poems on the way, which I may likely post the first of them tomorrow for all to enjoy, yay!

This is an upbeat power-pop song about loving your love just the way one is, where even the most silly, embarrassing, seemingly trivial moments are invariably priceless! )

Up Close And Personal
By: Noah Eaton
2/9/06

I love the taste of your date of birth,
I love your laughter in moments of disconcert,
I love how you’re not the slight bit concerned,
when we move to the point of no return,
I love you in your favorite polo shirt.

I love falling through your trap doors,
I love being your co-ambassador for rapport,
I love your stride through each department store,
and how you make it look hardcore,
I love the scent of your perfume,
mixed with the clothes in my drawer.

You know it’s you I adore,
I’m dying to know more,
let’s get a lot more personal.
your lips know how to underscore,
show me all you have in store,
I want to feel you up close and personal.

I love your highlights in the twilight,
I love you being the calcium light of the nightlife,
I love you defending your title in every pillow fight,
leaping around my bedroom like a water sprite,
I love kissing away all your mosquito bites.

I love your flesh for fantasy,
I love the way you conjure synchronicity,
I love your vivacity,
kissing the sun on your ten-speed,
I love caressing the back of your creamy knees.

You know it’s you I adore,
I’m dying to know more,
let’s get a lot more personal.
your lips know how to underscore,
show me all you have in store,
I want to feel you up close and personal.

(Love your lover like you love her,
submit to her deepest wish,
be honest, don’t be shy,
how much do you want it?)

I love you defending our love for novelty songs,
I love how in public we sing them along,
I love cuddling up with you on “Muskrat Love”,
crossing crosswalks hand in glove,
I love you wrapped in a sarong.

I love your ambiguity of the menu at the sushi bar,
I’d love you in Vina Del Mar, Qatar or Myanmar,
I love lying with you in the back of a trolley car,
strumming your hair, thanking God I’ve found where you are,
I love kissing you against the backdrop of our favorite star.

You know it’s you I adore,
I’m dying to know more,
let’s get a lot more personal.
your lips know how to underscore,
show me all you have in store,
I want to feel you up close and personal.

(Love your lover like you love her,
submit to her deepest wish,
be honest, don’t be shy,
how much do you want it?)
