Living high in the moon-lit sky,
they often sit and watch the passerby.

Lovers and thieves come out at night,
oh for them what an interesting sight,

Secret lovers under darkness meet,
while somewhere else a child is beat.

Bloodied and tired and oh so worn,
A mother dies when her baby is born.

Old and crippled and out in the street,
another man dies with nothing to eat.

Out in his car a shooter does wait,
Consumed by his anger, fury, and hate.

A little boy gets kidnapped tonight,
resisting his aggressor with all his might.

In her bed an old lady will die,
saying 'I love you.' with her last sigh.

Cold, hungry, and turned down with ease,
a man with two daughters in the gutter will freeze.

Those majestic figures so kind and bright,
those beautiful stars, angels of the night.

When they see this, what do they say?
nothing. Just pray for a better day.

Just pray for a better day.

Amen...

Chillingly surreal, yet all too real.
So much happens, beneath those 'twinkling' stars.
Welcome to Pips.

this so reminded me of sitting on a park bench in New York City, watching everyone, and you certainly do see a lot...

Hugs and thank you for this
you've drawn a picture, and I could read the snapshots in my mind.....

well done and welcome
