'Gypsy-phantoms' of the mist

[“Time ‘flies’...ah no!...
Time stays...it is we that go!”]

Let the clocks run wild
for they know nothing of Time.
Dance while you can, like
‘gypsy-phantoms’ of the mist,
for YOU are ‘flying’, NOT Time!

you know what, a new theory rises from your little poem. Time stays but it is the thing changes....simple but true. we do use a fixed reference to measure the changed ones.
If "I am that I am" then time shall be eternal unchanged. My thought.

poem is very good Tanka. I try to make one but my spirit is gone for the night.

"Let the clocks run wild
for they know nothing of Time."

Clocks were made to control humans.
This human prefers to be out of control.

The time has come said the poet to speak of many things
of how time doesn't really fly it's just ourselves with wings...

Re-reading this again and realizing I'd never left you a note to tell you how fine it is!
