Stepped over the line,
the one of no return.

Why did I do it,
I have felt the burn.

Moments of panic,
want to climb back in my shell.

Where I am safe,
from the burning of my yell.

Can't though,
don't think I didn't try.

Went to the door,
but couldn't say goodbye.

Something keeping me there,
yet for another day.

Tried so hard,
but I just can't run away.

Thank you all for commenting.  There is a pull to loving someone that keeps us there and although some times it is painful it is worth it.  To me having the ability to love is a blessing.
