~ lovers forever, face to face
my city or mountain
stay with me, stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
give to me your leather
take from me, my lace ~

     ~stevie nicks, leather and lace

the problem is
stevie’s been singing to me lately
I told her
   I’m strong

not in the deep of the night
she whispered
don‘t you think I see

I’ve been there too
waiting
for a city or mountain
that will not be moved
to be strong
when I am not
to take my lace
cry when he needs
hold me
and let me hold him

   my heart takes me where
I should not let me go
   that’s all
if you would just stop singing…

she laughs
her harsh
jingling laugh

darlin’ I know you
you are a woman true
your heart goes where it will
flies of its own accord

it’s not some silly song
about leather and lace
that’s bothering you

it’s a man

VERY interesting 'write'!

I especially like:

"you are a woman true
your heart goes where it will
flies of its own accord"

Applause!

Ah, I am glad that Stevie just happened to come along to set you straight.  God knows, what our lives would be if there was no Stevie Nicks.  Actually, I think you could teach her a few life lessons -- and I think your poetry is extraordinary.

Lady...I hope you got her autograph while you were talking...no?  Then, maybe she got yours.  Music can pull the truth from something not admitted to...just as pretty as leather and lace, this poem...and as honest.

LOL... Even before I read your response, I was thinking... Isn't it always? *G*

A unique, delightful write... I thoroughly enjoyed! *S*

Heh.  Only you...could bring this
silly grin to my face.

You and your touch.

We need to talk.

A lot.
