Where no tyranny is tolerable

Whence comes this melancholy?  And why now?
What could have precipitated or occasioned it?
Why this grayish fog surrounding me,
infusing me?
I have friends ... I think ... so why do I feel so lonely?
Am I not loved?  Am I not needed?
I brood over my inbox, looking at my threads.
Have I not been commenting enough?
Are the messages I find there not enough?
I brood over the Messenger window.
Someone there available to talk to?
I found you.
There seems a dark pall over everything;
my mind wrapped in a slow, molasses stupor.
Another long and sleepless night ahead,
as the last one was.
When, for no apparent reason,
my eyes are full, and lumps catch in my throat,
I turn to the words of Longfellow,
although I just forgot whatever it was he wrote,

As torrents in summer, this too will pass.
Tell myself that as long as I can type and breathe
I am not alone anymore,
tell myself tomorrow is another day,
tell myself it is all right
to reach out for assurance and emotional support:
that everybody knows one,
that every garden grows one.
I sigh ... spell-check ... and post this tedious twaddle.
You can go ahead and skip this if you want ...

Hi Jaime,
Glad I did not skip this one, an excellent write.
Sometimes we all feel that our works or efforts go unnoticed and unrewarded, but more often than not, it's only a state of mind.

Regards
Jim

Jaime...

You just go ahead and be a bit melancholy,
if this is what we will find in return.

This is one of your more captivating pieces
of poetry that I have read in a long time.

Much impressed, is the Sun.

Much.

From your present state of melancholy, you were able to sing one soulful song of the blues. I felt your loneliness, sadness and your frustration.

"Another long and sleepless night ahead,
as the last one was."

Jaime, even when you have a sleepless night, I know you to have written some incredible poetry ~ and even when you have a restless sleep, your dreams make for some interesting reading!

Sorry to hear of your present state of sadness. Remember, "And this too shall pass".
I say those words as a mantra when I am going through difficult times in my life.

God bless you!

Giving you a loving and compassionate hug,

Earth Angel
