Reversing common wisdom,
here's a point of view
which abides by the tides
of changing times:

If you separate your eggs
between several baskets
they will not form a web
to fire the stuff of dreams;
to push ahead despite doubts or fears
or tread the cautious words
of timorous mice some would call men.

Hear, now, this wisdom:
dare put all your eggs in a single basket,
dare dream one dream
dare never to let go the hope
of your dream becoming your reality!

For eggs are eggs: very fragile
and certainly break if dropped.
If you are struck with fear;
if you lose faith in sudden upheavals,
so will your wonderful dream.

Learn wisdom on the day of awakening:
scatter not your efforts –
Lose not this sacred moment to time.

An interesting philosophical thought well worth putting into practice, as you say in certain circumstances! I think we all do it sometimes, but either without realising it, or realising it but with guilt, instead of, as you suggest, with recognition, pro-activism and pride!

One could say that life, in a sense, is a gamble - or a series of choices. And you are saying, take the plunge (and I say, the responsibility too), make the choices and uphold the courage.

interesting reflection on dream-eggs, and mealy, micey-men; etc....

I am especially fond of:

"Hear, now, this wisdom:
