.

There they are
Those faithful men
Prepared to die which they’ve done
Honoring their hallowed god

On Earth
Each face a glimpse
Into the past

On a standard terracotta pedestal
With armor and arrows
From privates to general
As if ready to serve again

So how was it then old guide
Once that lord was dead
The people rose up and buried him
Even deeper a second time

This is a very truly beautiful poem.

"Each face a glimpse
Into the past" how profound!!

I love those
"Once that lord was dead
The people rose up and buried him"...a down and up moment.

"Even deeper a second time"  so precise...first time as little god, second time as big chunk of gold.

enjoyed. (being there)
