Two trees Woke up from the Ground.
But the ground was cold,
So they Formed leaves,
To cover their branches.
Nothing, Is as soft as it seems.

Two bodies Formed from the soil,
Rock each other to sleep,
And the wind sings,
Fair thee well,
Fair thee well...

We fill the Vein with a seal of Concrete,
To cover the smell of the Powder-keg.

We hear the sad, sad waltzes of Crespi,
From his grave,
Love Buried keeps him from sleep.

The earth breathes.
The branches bend.
We sit Solitaire,

And whispers of isolation
Continue
Down the Lineā€¦

Megg.

I liked this very much. It read to me as native american wisdom.

I wish I could pound my drum.

(I also wish I could smoke my pipe, but that's forbidden too now. )

Your evocative poem is enough though.

Or it would be, if my teenage son's Comanche name did not translate as:

"Eats Eight Eggs".

Much enjoyed.

And the earth and the living creatures and the breathing plants are one, but fallen Man must rise and listen and learn from the animals, for their ways are good.

I loved and lived and breathed your poem.
