          ‘Darkest’ Love

Just beyond a grand percussive
   song of storm,
when the moon is but an apparition
(ravaged by the waves of time)
in a dark and pensive sky
of midnight blue and tenuous
   starlight....
wounded galaxies are slipping past
   my window panes,
the empty mirrors of my soul’s
   uncertainty,
reflecting that ‘overwhelming
   question’....
of how I might yet seek escape
from the ‘black hole’ of your heart,
where love falls short and memory
   lives too long?!

one of the best love poem. I felt the strggling of the feelings.

I like to read love poems wothout the words of "love" "feel" or "heart". YOu do have a "heart" but it is the black hole tell it all.
very much enjoyed.

"Hawking radiation is a theoretical process by which black holes can evaporate into nothing"-----Black Hole in wikipedia.

Skillfully guiding the mind's eye from the timeless to the specific, relationships between sky and earth, Selena and Gaia, are well expressed and eternal.

I can relate, understand the darkest love...
A black hole.. the void..

"the empty mirrors of my soul’s
   uncertainty,
reflecting that ‘overwhelming
   question’....
of how I might yet seek escape
from the ‘black hole’ of your heart,"

How do you escape... the heart which is our black hole?

Beautifully written!!

Drauntz~  I agree- it is a love poem ... without the love words...

Bruce, ya know, I've read a bit of your pennings while wandering through the pages in search of my prodigal muse ... and this,  I love.  You have a wonderful talent and I'm enjoying reading your offerings.

"how I might yet seek escape
from the ‘black hole’ of your heart,"....clearly show the desprate of love(in or out)

so to be honest, the last two lines are extras.

I, too, always forget all the wrong things...this was captivating and I need to read you more.

So I will.

Beautifully original thought patterns.

Enjoyed the flow and the fall into the black hole.

Super!

My wishes for your escape to a happier relationship, but thank you for painting your pain so beautifully in swirls of blue night so that we can feel this with you.

I loved the entire poem as I was reading it and KNOW I had something in mind to post as response... and then I lost those thoughts completely, realizing your last lines could be my epitaph. *S* Talk about derailing a train of thought! *G*

Still... these lines pierce even premonition's fog with their beauty and clarity:

wounded galaxies are slipping past
   my window panes,
the empty mirrors of my soul’s
   uncertainty,

Beautiful write!!

After reading the opening lines of this exquisite poem on 'Dark Love', I knew I was in for another fine poetic offering from your pen!

"Just beyond a grand percussive
   song of storm,
when the moon is but an apparition"

You certainly know how to create an ambiance and set the tone for your uniquely descriptive poetry! Well done!
