In natural response I open unto
the light of another day
turned from a queen to a servant
in dust and sweep of a dream.

Cobwebs of love hidden within
lie in taunt and sneer
of a woman’s limited reach
to clean up the corners and bends.

The spider, desire, delights to see
dreams are better than real
and this creator and witness
releases all anxiousness
into the atmosphere.

The atmosphere fills and overflows
with desire’s unspeakable fear
and moves a woman another notch on
into the realm of detachment
layered and heavily weighted
on the shoulders of tenderness.

Nothing is clean when dreams are seen
to grow the spider, desire
that sits around the bend from me
in a corner relaxed in belief
it can spin and release, spin and release,
and not be swept away.

But spin little spider, spin, spin, spin;
even spiders have their day …
that sweeps a dream away!
