Earth Day Donation….

A one way ticket but please, reduce the price
of gas for this truck, the world’s last sacrifice

to pick up and clean up someone’s chagrin,
beginning right here, with a welcoming in.

I’ll give you a basket of san* food’s delight,
a smock of ingenious, a song, and a beer light,
with some remaking, if remake we can,
in pulling out tires, and steel, from sand,

and remake ourselves to endearing
those silent, gilt-troved treasures we have,
seeking no others who think, if they may,
before we cave in to indifferences,
glorying in some type of a galaxy’s seek,
someone who will stand before all the meek…

we drive by our roadways, where
other’s  wayward leftovers stray, and build
upon them, some type of four-clover-left-overs

and seek not in some re-shifting, some
remanding of sand, and if we do nothing,
then on nothing we’ll stand.

And try as Earth might, we scour each day,
a life and a form, and a beginning
in our own, demented, needful, way.

Read this earlier in the day, SIL.  Appreciated it then and appreciate it now.  I'm glad you wrote it...we have so much to do (or not do or quit doing) and so little time.  The latest problems seem to be with the honeybees.  The birds are affected, the bees are affected, and if that's not a warning, I don't know what is.   ...jo

Sissie

and if we do nothing,
then on nothing we’ll stand.

I was go caught in grandchildren yesterday that I had to be reminded by an Earthday celebration, found while having fun, just how much care is needed for her as well.

I enjoyed your poem and here are our gas prices to compare with yours - I think your gallon is equal to 3.79 liters so you take those and multiply by that and you get our outrageous prices!
