Rewrite:

Lift Every Rock

I often sit and poke my mind
To lift some mental rock to find
The treasure of an indiscreet
A gem perhaps not quite complete

Each shadow does a dance for me
Of hidden thoughts that’s brewed a tea
And when I sip this potions wet
It often places me in debt

A fallow field is good to know
Once rested of a constant grow
It wields a power like a flower
And yields an essence of an hour

And I am off to phantoms rook
To take a second longer look
To dig me up a treasure mart
That’s buried there within my heart

There’s magic in our older age
Just gauge once more its mellow stage

very lovely. and a very interesting thought about the rock in the mind.

Sir, do you mean that certian area that is not developed at all? you might find that under one rock is your sky diving desire, another could be a rock climber, or ballet dancer or something fancier than that. Keep digging and fliping. but we shall not loss a wonderful poet.

enjoyed as always.

have good night, Sir Tabin.

Seymour,

Your words are refreshing and stand out like a meadow flower in a fallow field.
It is the 'resting' of the constant grow that sometimes is necessary for the magic of onboard knowledge to subconciously grow within one's mind to produce the power you so wisely show in your verse.

There’s magic in our older age
Just gauge once more its mellow stage

All who choose to drink of your cup will have their thirst quenched...

yup,
the gains from our choices, our independence, and along comes the stripping of innocence, yet, the flowers of maturity...splendid read

new here...

but found the poem most fascinating... on how you used everyday words to speak so loud about life and the after-effects of living it.
