Chickenitis
Chickenitis is what hatchling chicks contract
just as soon as they are born.
Normally, they contract it by eating fertilized eggs.
At first the disease incubates silently.
Then, as hatchling chicks grow up
to be real mommy and daddy chickens,
they develop full blown terminal chickenitis
which will ultimately kill them by spontaneous remission,
and after that they will be free of chickenitis.
Normally, chickenitis is epidemic among chickens.
All chickens are afflicted,
by definition, with chickenitis.

Humanitis is epidemic among human beings.
Normally, they contract the disease from parents or siblings.
All humans are, by definition,
terminally afflicted with humanitis,
the only cure for which is death;
after which the disease goes into spontaneous remission.
Have you interviewed any dead people
who did not die of chickenitis?
You see, I don't think I'm going to get any sleep tonight.

"All humans are, by definition,
terminally afflicted with humanitis,"

Yes, Jaime, it is indeed a dreaded disease but there are periods of remission that can make us really appreciate our human state.
