Perhaps we should just let it lie,
let it die a natural death.
Perhaps we should not even try
resuscitating every breath.

There is no life, what’s done is done
and no sun, no light,  just air
pressured by the last gasp run
that keeps us operating there.

Artificially alive, with no soul,
no sense of whole, to lift us up
and from the bitter dregs the bowl
is cracked and shattered with the cup.

This passionate course a dish once served
is now reserved and cold as well.
We meet and share through time that’s curved
we’ve passed through death and this is hell.

No resurrection in this place
this race is lost and we are done.
We see it in the dismal space
of winnowed numbers from our run.

So, perhaps we let it lie
let it die out naturally
give in, give up and never try
to bring back spoken poetry.

a good commitee can decimate communication.

KethryGal~

'give in, give up and never try
to bring back spoken poetry.'

OH NO !!!
I'm not canceling my weekend appearance !!

Loving the new smile on your face and the joy of seeing you here posting~

Now ... as a 'not-so-dead-poetess' ... I'm combining spoken poetry with the book sales ... soooooo, I'm either dying for success ... or successfully dying !!

Bill is turning out his mini-guitars by the hundreds ... and they are selling like crazy~
He is still honored that one rests on your shelf !!

Love ya' lady~

Nah...this is April!  Poetry month!
And I've been blessed to hear Robert Hershon
and Amalia Ortiz...
with more to come before the month is over.

Dead?  Poetry is not dead, dear friend...

nor should you ever let it be so!

Well... that depends. *S* You know you had to do my speaking for me even when I would have loved to speak for a friend... However much I like words, I like hiding more... so if spoken poetry depends on my voice, we're out of luck. *S* However... I have ears... and they love getting a workout. *S*

Beautiful work!
