cold and windy sunday

my feet glide over
cold demands left
on the kitchen floor last night
demands made
denied

sunday is a day of no demands
I watch as my hand
pours water for tea
comforting movement
mindless

huddled on the sofa
feet kept cozy under me
book beside me
cracked flat
awaiting my pleasure
I sip tea

all week
I wrestled with life
grokking
digging
feeling
taoing
being at one with the universe
thinking
…thinking
dammit… thinking

now alone and quiet
I can listen to the voice of the cold wind
leave off thinking
and you can bet your ass
the first thing I won’t think about

is you

I can feel the cold, hard ache.  I wish that "This too shall pass" had more power.

Dear Lady...there's something about tea that says, be quiet, take time, love yourself.  You're lovely, you are!

... dang! You just did it!

How to use a Sunday to make "tabula rasa"!

Very efficiently penned!

Kate - I've always thought that thinkers can never leave off thinking but a Sunday like yours makes me think that maybe I'm wrong.  I'm going to give it a try - tea and all!

Oh, Kate..  Such strength... beautiful strength. When logic or thoughts seem pervasive.. then serenity can return with the feelings of the soul that overcome and fuel the strength of resolve. Such lovely rendering of the beauty and strength of the soul over the mind of much over rated logic. As usual, your artful writing touches and strokes the soul nicely. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work.   Write on, Lady... write on.

This is quite a read, the final line was unexpected, and snuck up and suprised me. Thank you for sharing such an enjoyable read with us.

WOW!! ...just WOW!
You are amazing!
Catching my breath here after the powerful slap ending.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.
