 Artist: Leo B. Blake This Blessed Day ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ In the twi of dawning light, Solar rays pierce dark of night. ~ Breathing life in to this morn, As yet another day is born. I rise to greet the early sky, And wipe the sleep from rested eye. I breathe the essence of the scene, And set about my day’s routine. I see the children off to school, With knowledge of each Golden Rule. I tend the garden, cook, and clean, ~ Yet I’m as rich as any queen. With loving hands, each day I bake. ~ Muffins, cookies, or angel cake. Heavenly scents waft through our home, ~ Aromas sweet as honeycomb. When gathered for our evening meal, We share our thoughts and how we feel. There’s mirth and camaraderie, ~ God bless my little family. ~*~ I’m growing sleepy as moon does rise, And beams of silver kiss indigo skies. I’ve loved and laughed ~ and toiled and played. ~ Thank you God, for this blessed day. Love is the unifying force which integrates one’s soul with that of another. ~ Linda L. Dowd |

Good gravy lady! That was simply lovely and should be made into a wall hanging. Ever though of presenting your poems to someone that does that kind of thing. The market is out there for that type of product, just a suggestion Linda. If you do figure out how, I will buy one! I sent this to my entire family to view in a card from the site. My muse seems to have gone on a permanent vacation(actually I am just way too busy with life these days,) so you won't my saying that I sure wish I had written this. |
