I lost my headlight

While I was driving at down
A police car was tailing alone
Shining its light, blue and red,
“Did I do something wrong?”

“Your headlight is not on!”
“I turned it on sir.”
“No, your highlight is not on!”

I was puzzled and scared at his frown
So I searched up and I searched down
Where could they have gone?
And no trace could be found.

“Sir, my headlight is stolen
When you were out of town
Who could steal my light?
Is lately a black hole around? Sir?”

Lady, you need change the bulbs.

Haha, that was a funny read. A poetess of course can be quite puzzled by practical questions.

ok, i'm going to take a chance at this one in a way not yet tried.

this is a profund piece wrapped in the veil of humor, when, in fact, it is a commentary on the process of losing one's mind, trying to be who you are against all odds all those who would try and tell you your bulbs need changing when in fact your bulbs are fine it's THEIR'S that need changing!

you are different.  at dawn you are who you are with light on working at your pace being yourself and the "cop" comes along trying to tell you otherwise. oh how they always chip away at you to be something you are not when in fact who you are is the precise bulb you wanted to be all along but NOOOOOOOOO that rattles their cages and rather chance change for the better they tell you YOUR bulb is missing or out.  Make YOU doubt yourself while THEY act out one more day in the life being the phonies they are no matter how you dress them, the phonies they are.

course if you feel the need to change your bulbs or doubt they were right to begin with the empty bulbs win.

your's burns just fine, thank you very much.

and always will so long as you never doubt the power of believing in who you are:  a wonderful person who needs not change for anyone who is raggin with jealousy that you have peace and they never will.

thank you very much, dear Outlawthunder, quite a Thunder. You write very well.
Your words like sweet wine, the very sweet with high proof kind, make me quite light-headed. I myself may feel deeply but never a good talker in verses. thank you for all your comments. truly got encoraged. and I deeply appreciate your kindness.

there is a path through the valley
round the base snaking it's way
upward yonderway to the top

where what you write what you
say what you think you are worth
gets it's due

unless you are one of the chosen
few who get it that you had such
value from the first step of the
trip down below every step of the
way to the top of what exactly...

understanding?
compassion?
understanding?

love?

justice?
equality?

love?

and all that for the price of
writing a poem...

hardly

you live it every single second
of one day to the next with no
compromise to the value of doing
right by who you are matters not
the base of the mountain or top
all steps of that noble path
in-between it's inside you all
along...

priceless
