it can't happen here

playin in the park
bright sunny day
all is right today

all is right today

my little one six
her brother four
warmth of sunny
park'n'friends all
around never so
happy before

i leaned forward
to tie my boy's
left shoe he had
a smile beaming
all the time

we like the park
best the bench
is comfortable
rides for little
ones safe to
play all day
safe to be
here all
safe

funny how kids
are so fast on
their feet such
energy where
do they get it
from could you
share some
with dad and
mommy please

a treeline close
to our location
gave cover to
what would
turn all of
our lives
inside
out

there

your shoe is
tied little rascal
play wit -- -- --

i was leaning over
having tied that
shoe i will never
forget when i felt
it i looked at my
son's face

he was frozen
a guttural sound
came deep from
inside his soul

his eyes were
transfixed on
something over
my shoulder he
had THAT LOOK

i knew

i felt so ice cold
with fear jolting
every cell in my
body God help
me i could not
turn around
fast enough

all i saw was
a glimpse of
her legs and
feet kicking
wildly as she
was being
carried no
abducted
into the
woods

gone

missing

so fast
so fast
GOD my scream
could not get out
i was so encased
in shock and fear

a silence

a silence for only
a moment gripped
the park everyone
seemed frozen all
of them no one
moved a warm
sunny day carried
on while a monster
a thing ran away a
little girl locked into
his evil embrace

no one home

no one fast enough
no one saw him the
lightening fast move
the total audacity of
it where what how
why i have to think
i have to breathe

GOD all is panic
pandemonium
police
helicopters
volunteers
media
cameras

vultures in the
sky and on the
ground it was
like a movie a
frame by cruel
frame movie of
horror no word
could describe

i died that day

oh i lived on to
help others if
it ever happen
to them but

i died that day

i knew she had
no chance it is
something you
know or fear i
can't tell it's so
all jumbled up
with panic fear
terror horror

unknown

no one home

you know
she was never
found it has been
fifteen years now
she was never found

sh w s nev e f ou n...

I'm frozen too ...

You give these horror tales such a touch of vivid reality that one can hardly breathe while reading it.

Again: it's too much to bear!

You made me remember a movie I had seen in my youth with a famous German actor, Gert Froebe, who played the role of a murderer of a little girl. Just to tell you how deeply I reacted to the tremendous suspense: my teeth clattered for a long time afterwards (good that I was with my boyfriend!). That story stuck with me for a long time ... Several months later, one day in Lugano/Switzerland I went to buy a newspaper and when the man in front of me turned around I had such a shock that I gasped: it was the famous actor of that terrible movie!! He saw my reaction and was surprised of course. I told him the reason and we laughed together ... maybe he was even flattered, because it meant of course that he was really very good in that role. The movie intended to draw the attention of parents to such dangers.

You are right, life ends when things like that happen.

Love,
Margherita

No one is ever prepared for the horrors that happen to the innocent around us...we all gasp and speak of how terrible it is but we protect the monsters who do this kind of thing...I am sorry if this sounds harse but I am tired of the victims not seeing justice...Powerful writing like this needs to be heard loudly like this...I thank you for the many who can't...*Big Hugs*
