Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2007-04-11 10:22 AM

Rain poured down,
cold winds blew,
tears are falling.

The sun melted,
no warmth shines,
just darkness.

This is why,
the moon did cry,
death of the one,

The true sun,
that shined love,
glorious beams,

That warmed the soul,
filled her sky,
with wonderful things.

Day and night,
two opposites loving,
each, one-of-a-kind.

Created for the other,
belonging together,
Two unique forces,

The sun and the moon,
centers of the universe,
until that aweful day,

That a dead star fell,
from the outer limits,
Killing the sun.

The moon is sad,
she glows knowing,
she is the only light,

Glowing from the love,
that the sun burned forever,
into the lantern of her heart.

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”

I can but second "Honeybunch's" comment...
particularly pursuant to that marvelous image:

"Glowing from the love,
that the sun burned forever,
into the lantern of her heart."

wonderful line!!

Beautiful pictures, especially the last one.  Your poem complements them nicely.
