.

The sea south
Of Jacksonville
Florida is roaring
As it rolls with its
Sour salt smells
Toward shore

It is at its best
A vast blue indifference
To who we are
Or think we are
It couldn’t care less

We are the romance
That makes no sense
In such a universe
Its wind howling
In our ears

So let us walk for awhile
In the time we have

Pick out those things
That please our eyes
And give them names

.

comment or no comment?

"So let us walk for awhile
In the time we have

Pick out those things
That please our eyes
And give them names"

How true.the essence of our life.
a very beautiful poem.
I have to swing my mind hard reading between "poetry meeting" and "Sunday".

This ‘write’ is quite fine!

I especially liked:

“It is at its best
A vast blue indifference
To who we are
Or think we are
It couldn’t care less

We are the romance
That makes no sense
In such a universe...”

and:

“So let us walk for awhile
In the time we have...”

It may well be a nihilistic,
transcendental universe?!.....

Thanks all

Especially you Helen;
I haven't completely gone over

An "expanded" Sunday feeling.

Very lovely.
