Love is like a stepping stone
for mind within the flesh
to cross the muddy waters
of life’s real turbulence.

To stand again upon the bank
of sure and certain peace
a craving never cast aside
that lies behind the eyes
asleep perchance to dream.

Eyelids flicker once or twice
as if the dream would out
and catapult the essence of
peace and harmony
to a world beset by strife.

But muddy waters swiftly flow
over stones, you know,
to force upon the gentle
a dive into the fray
of muddied up beliefs.

Therein a person wallows
and swallows everything
but all come to the bank again
some wet, bedraggled, foul,
to make of life’s real turbulence
a forgotten happenstance.

One, two, three, I’m stepping, see
because I love you so!

An impressive write. ... "to cross the muddy waters" seems a promise that the clear waters can always be reached.
