Down By the Mill
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

I long for peace and quietude in the bustle of my day,
And seek out a tranquil place to meditate and pray.
Oft’ times I find my refuge, at the pond down by the mill,
And listen to the buzz of bees and song of whippoorwill.

I lie down by the water’s edge, in the tall, cooling grass,
And watch the geese and goslings as they go swimming past.
I soak up the warming rays of a newborn summer sun,
And feel a sense of harmony as my healing has begun.

“We are borne of star dust,
and to the stars we shall one day return.”
~ Linda L. Dowd

OhGirlieFriend~
I long for the 'quiet' so many times ... a walk in the meadow or a stroll along the seashore, a quiet retreat to the pond ... yes, those all do it for me too~

Thank you for this ... especially today~
I am in seek of quiet~

love these places and times....

did you know that I've just heard of a theory that some people think time is a human linear construct and our consciencenous suppresses shocking future events. So, it's like we could have futre lives and future memories, not just past lives and past memories…I'm still trying to get my brain around that. It could explain some of our dreams?  Anyway, that is the thought you provoked...(wink)

So very beautiful lovely Linda.
Very much enjoyed.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Lovely Linda, I can think of no better place to heal....very pretty poem and lovely place you've described.  We had a couple of ponds on the farm I grew up on so I know exactly what you're talking about.  Happy Easter Day, Earth Angel, my dear friend!  Hope you are well.   ....jo

Ah, music to my soul. So good to know you are there and writing so beautifully. I look forward to the changes and process that has taken place in your writing as I look through poems you have written within the space I have created.

This goes right into my library!

The meadow, the pond, the prayers, the peace, where love blooms unencumbered  ... I have such a place too, dear Linda, and your words speak in touching beauty to my heart, more than I can tell or you will ever know.

Thank you for this precious moment in time.

Love and hugs.

Hi, lily jo! I find that communing with nature to be very healing. All personal ails, worries, and troubles become insignificant when we leave our microcosmic world behind!

Breathe in peace and harmony!

(smiles) I too always love finding a special place of serenity to placate and introspect amidst the hustle and bustle of each day, and often my favorite places to go are Mount Tabor, the site of a dormant volcano that is part of Portland here, or in Washington Park near the Japanese garden, where it is quiet and natural everywhere! (sigh) Yay, I'm so happy you have your special place too, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Noah ~

I knew that you would be one to seek solace in nature, as do I. There is such beauty so be seen and serenity to be experienced, when communing with Nature.

May you carry that kind of peace, with you always!

Loving Light 'n a great big hug-o-love,
Linda
