          Love's Offer

You....
stand beside
your sea of sorrows,
timeless tears,
and broken promises,
with proud-fine eyes
that I have seen...
only in my grandest
   dreams!

I....
have neither magic
tale nor talisman
to dispel the poison-past
or dam fear’s fatal flow
with but humble words
of ‘new beginnings’;
and...on this fragile cusp
of  ‘now and future’ time
I can offer only...
the inexhaustible comfort
of my love...
our spirits born aloft
   forever
on bright passion’s
brave-sweet wings!
