Sleepy Girl (the one I love)

Sleepy Girl
02 April 2007

Don't talk to me about pain,
the growing pains of love.
A separation of hearts,
a sum of desire, not need.

For would she finally come home,
a walk in holding her gentle hand.
The height of a multitude to overlook,
in standing together, side by side.

Sleepy girl, the one I love,
her beauty, her desire, in God above.
Our destination, a true place to live,
two hearts, one guitar to serenade.

For she knows tomorrow will rejoice,
a family of kindness, multitude of choice.
Sleepy girl, her reign as one does weep,
just to know, dreams were made,
and so was a moment to rest and sleep.

There's no history in this poem and its shorter than your usual but I like it very much.

a good commitee can decimate communication.

It is great to see my poems have not been forgotten since I last posted any here on PIP.

your comment was much appreciated. When the poem is one of 325 all dedicated to the same friend. Where she must no doubt be my muse of all time and counting.
