.

Girl
You couldn’t be more
Than sixteen pushing
A baby carriage up the street

From the complex
For welfare recipients
Though the weather is cold
You wear no coat
For that would obscure
What you have

But no merchant
Or captain of industry
However appealing to fantasy
Is going to come
And take you home

To that great big house
Made of golden bricks
Lavished matrimonial opulence

Complete with servants
And a four car garage
