If I can never feel the sun
on my face
If I can never feel the
soft summer rain
If I can never feel a
loved ones kiss
...let me die.

If I can no longer hear
my nieces sweet laugh
If I can no longer hear
thunder rumbling from a stormy sky
If I can no longer hear
my dogs welcoming bark
...let me die.

I don't want to live
locked behind my own eyes
I don't want to live
if I don't know my sons
I don't want to live
without dignity and grace
Just let me die
Just let me die.

Unfortunately, Paula, as you correctly point out,
but that which cannot be done, is to give
an advance directive on such things as

Alzheimers.

Now, were it nearly any other medical condition,
your wishes would be granted.

It's a shame that there are some diseases
that do not allow for such dignity.

You've expressed your desires very well.
