.

There is a sickly sheen
To your skin

Even in this light at night
One doesn’t feel much confidence
You’ll be with us for very long

I doubt you’re fooled
By what the doctors say
Religion the various philosophies
A shooting star makes its way
Across the bay

I hear my name as I stand there
Quietly from by the window sill

And turn around into a gaze

I've spent too many nights at a hospital window, looking out on the tops of trees and trying to think about the night.  This brings it all back.  Effective, and sad.
