.

We took a drink
And a drag from our cigarettes
For having which he had put me
At the head of line

There was the gate
Just like the Bible and storybooks
In truth I never expected him an Irishman
Though of course he didn’t seem to mind

We filled the ethereal air
With clouds of smoke
While those myriads before us
Made spectacular scenes and whined

No fear Me Boy
While I’m in charge of the toll
Those sissies will never get in

.

I read this several times,
not sure how to respond.
I think I will just say that
I find your inspiration an
interesting read.  I did enjoy it.

Well, I never thought him an Irishman, either.  But it rings true, the comment about the whiners. And it made me smile, the going to the head of the line.  Maybe I should request burial with whiskey and a couple of cigars, just in case.
