A dreamer was dreamed...
and in the dreaming...
He dwelled within a tomb.

In darkness, he screamed
at the seen and seeming...
and kneeled from lack of room.

Claustrophobic anxiety...
Unable to roll away the stone.
He dreamed a great society...
So as not to feel alone.

"I am Legion", cried the dead.
Suffering torments in the flesh.
Tattered rags, from a single thread.
Fish caught in the mesh.

Misery dislikes solitude.
"We are many", Legion cried.
Although One feeds the multitude...
All in One is still denied.

A slippery slope and fast descent...
For those who root in earth.
Those joined to man know not what is meant...
To be of virgin birth.

The One who feeds the swine goes on...
'Though he may dream within the sty.
Awakening comes with light of dawn.
He knows where his home lies.
