The wind blows caution into freedom,
the sun burns holes in the truth,
and the sea takes back what it brings
like givers that turn into takers.

I thought one day I knew the way
until the rain washed certainty out
and my much valued silence destroyed
by the rip roaring invisible thunder.

The light, yes, the light of lightening streaks
shows up the flaws in personalities
and the beautiful, beautiful, twinkling stars
needs far-off and unattainable.

The moon simply gets up too late
to alter the course of a woman’s fate
and endless streams of love remain streams
because rivers they’ll never be.

Trees to me are a great mystery
but too soon must die from disease
or from ever attendant human greed
that uproots but never replants.

The world is indeed a wonderful place;
it teaches us how to save face
and the thorns on every rose bush
show bad always outweighs the good.

This is the world we are born to;
will the one we die to be better?

thought-provoking question indeed

shame we treat the earth as if it will never run out

sad stuff

This is a very deep poem, which very deep thoughts.  The meaning is strong without being overbearing and yet captures the readers attention very well. I liked this a lot.

had to come back and read this again, as I always do with yours

this part will stay with me all day...

The moon simply gets up too late
to alter the course of a woman’s fate
and endless streams of love remain streams
because rivers they’ll never be.

Thank you all for your kind comments.  Very much appreciated.
Dixie - maybe we are the only ones who can change "fate" but it's so much easier to blame it on the moon.

I love reading you...as you go beyond what most believe to be truth...which is in my book, a marvelous room with a view....
Exceptional writing

Trees are our treasure, our life! I agree with you, our world is in bad shape, for humanity's own doing.

Great insightful write.

Your question at the end is certainly born of hope. We go back to where we have come from, I think. The bad thing is that we forget what we have come to do here ... and with great difficulty we have to climb up again on the ladder of awareness.

One day we shall see things more clearly!

Love,
Margherita

Okay I am going to try this see if it works
I like the part about the sea taking back what it has given ...
I believe, well never mind.  I'm not even sure this is going to work, or anything

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, Helen, so far across the sea.
I am so happy I have finally figured out how to use the reply function again ... ...
The ocean of my dreams ... ... ... ... ... ...

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and, Terry, individual thought and effort is all that is required.  There are forces at work that will snowball it or not depending on the requirements of the bigger picture.
