         Mandolin Memories
         (and Love Reborn?)

I have known ‘wisdom’
lost in knowledge...
knowledge missed in
   ‘information’;
and finest chance surrendered
to well-worn complacency...
which proved no ‘soul-salvation’!

Only True Love’s finest moments
gave Time any meaning...
remaining in memory
both ‘moving’....yet immovable,
not desiring....but desirable,
anchoring self within selflessness!

May Love rise once more
from the ash of burning roses...
in dark and lonely rooms
where heart-dream echoes
   lie sleeping
mid the tenuous strains
of distant mandolins...
notes in sliding harmony
and chords of passion’s
   liquid fire!

Well damn, you weren't kidding about that "incurable Romanticism."

I tend to veer away from love poetry but this one really caught my eye. I have no critique; you nailed it the first time. This is a fine piece of work. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brava...
