   Love Quest

Dream-brush words
paint life’s canvas
in faded longing
for a world
where love and
    humility
stand in truth,
eternal sentinels
passing not
in a moment’s wisp
of a long-lost kiss,
like a book offered
    between us
then forgotten,
or dark dancers
spinning past
stain-glass promises
shattered in the dust,
and floating bells
in sunset patterns
singing twilight songs,
while we apprehend
the chill of shadow
and comprehend
the cold of love
'til morning shakes
the slumbering dew
of another desperate dawn!

Your dream-brush palette tantalizes and delights, purring this cheshire cat.

This poem reads like a watercolor.
My favorite part:

"Time-mist kiss,
like a book offered
    between us
then forgotten,"

Exquisitely ephemeral -------- then,
the dance -- dance being the most fugitive  of the arts, an excellent reference here.

Good work, Bruce!

"I am a 'natural philosopher'

Yes, your poetry reflects that, and the clear descriptions to detail explains the...environmentalist and trained 'field' scientist

Your style intrigues me!

Your intelligence bleeds onto the page. Nicely done Bruce. My suggestion would be to nix the "time-mist kiss" line; but that's only my little suggestion.

I'll keep an eye out for your work. Cheers mate   - Ed

This poem makes me think of the magical dreams I love to weave in my mind where the world rejoices in love, compassion and understanding....then reality opens eyes upon the natural world crying out in pain...mmm...I think I ramble here....I feel this vision and do my part to hear the music of this world that blesses us with so much beauty....Wonderful writing...**Big Hugs**
